The weather cleared just in time for the Discovery 3.5, 4 & 5 campers to enjoy some quality time at the Buffalo Zoo. See our photos and video below!
The week concluded with a wonderful Discovery show. Sports and Challenge Quest campers went to Skyzone, Discovery 6 & 7 campers enjoyed their time at the Power Vista, Wilderness campers went fishing at Hoyt Lake, OnStage campers rehearsed the songs and Discovery 4 & 5 campers played at Explore and More.
The Wilderness Explorers enjoyed their first night away from home. After the rest of the camp went home, Camp Director, Clare Wagstaff, Wilderness Explorers lead counselor, Steve Szymkowiak, Elmwood Franklin's Library and Media specialist, Joan Good, and twenty campers stayed behind to spend their first night in the school's tipi. The evening began as the campers braved the outdoors and went on a hike at Hunter's Creek led by one of Elmwood Franklin School's science teachers, Steve Rao. This was followed by a cookout led by the school's sports teacher, Pete Johnson and history teacher, Jonathan Garra. The evening carried on with a bonfire, s'mores, lots of laughter and best of all, a lot of fun! We are confident the campers are ready for their next big adventure where they will be spending two nights in the great outdoors in Allegheny.
The Challenge Quest and Sports campers enjoyed a day at Fantasy Island. Master Chef campers were busy in the kitchen making homemade pesto and gazpacho. The OnStage campers continued plugging away at their production, preparing for Friday's show. Meanwhile, at the pool...
We were all smiles at EFS Summer Camp between yesterday and today. Discovery 3.5 and 4 campers used the parachute to sing "Acka Backa," the Discovery 6 and 7 campers made Fourth of July tie dye t-shirts, and Discovery 5 campers joined the 3.5 and 4 campers today for a field trip to Fort Niagara. Challenge Quest campers completed a delicious Minute-to-Win-it challenge, Onstage continued working on their show complete with a Zumba Kids session this morning with EFS Spanish teacher, Maria Pesquera. Master Chef baked a cake for CIT, Nick while preparing more recipes with the strawberries they picked on Monday. Sports campers took on the heat with a challenging game of kickball. It was a great day!
