Camp Update 2022
While we are planning on our traditional camp offerings, we realize that we may have to change our plans to accommodate evolving COVID-19 guidelines. Our summer camp staff is committed to keeping children engaged and providing a safe space for friendship, fun, and enrichment.
We will continue to follow the health and safety guidelines set by our state and local health departments and will communicate any new health and safety updates as they arise. Thank you for your flexibility, and we cannot wait to welcome our families back to camp this summer!
For questions, please contact camp directors Will Murrett and Jenna Evaldi at [email protected].
Thanks,

Frequently Asked Questions
What is EFS Summer Camp doing to ensure a clean and safe environment?
All Elmwood Franklin School classrooms and common areas will see increased disinfecting throughout the day. There will be designated hand washing and sanitizing times and stations available to each camp section. All employees will be wearing a face mask at all times. Masks are also required for all campers. We realize that this may be a challenge for our younger campers. Our staff is committed to helping our campers adjust to wearing a mask throughout their day at camp . All staff and campers will have a temperature and wellness check before entering the building.
How are staff being prepared?
All Elmwood Franklin Summer Camp staff are being trained on the COVID-19 protocols and procedures that help reduce the spread of the virus laid out by the CDC. This includes social distancing guidelines, proper cleaning, hygiene routines, and understanding of the virus.
How will social distancing be enforced?
Elmwood Franklin Summer Camp will adhere to all social distance guidelines in accordance with the CDC. Each camp will consist of 10 or fewer campers with one staff member and they will remain with this group throughout the week. Most of the camp sections will have their own designated bathroom and will have limited exposure to other groups.
Will there be swimming this summer?
We, unfortunately, will not be able to offer our swim program this year. All campers will have the opportunity to instead engage in water-based activities each day at camp.
What should I do if my child is sick?
If your child feels ill, please stay home. If during camp your child exhibits any symptoms, he or she will be removed from their group and EFS Summer Camp staff will contact you to have your child picked up.
What are the pick-up and drop-off procedures?
To help limit exposure, daily pick up, and drop off will be curbside/outside only. Each camp section will have a designated drop-off location at which a staff member will greet you and your child to do a temperature/wellness check and the camper will then move to their designated home base. Please see the map below for information on where your designated camp drop-off location will be. More information will be provided the week before camp!
