Who is it for? Children ages 8 to 14 When does it run? Camp runs in one-week sessions. Attend one week, several weeks, or all seven weeks. Cost $495.00/week The cost for Week 1 & 3 is discounted to $395 due to camp being closed on June 19 & July 4. This includes all field trips, activities, and a morning and afternoon snack. Sports Camp: Worldwide Sports Each week, the sports will change to reflect the Camp's theme. Campers can play classic "backyard" games in backyard sports or go kayaking and fishing in water sports! Writer's Workshop (Ages 8-14) Do you love to write stories? Are you a budding author? This Camp delves into creative writing and offers campers a chance to create their works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and more! Campers will learn the ins and outs of writing in this exciting Camp! Dig It! - Planting Time (Ages 8-14) Dig It Camp is a vibrant and eco-conscious offering that brings together budding gardeners and nature enthusiasts in our camp community. This session allows campers to connect with the natural world, learn about gardening, and positively impact the environment while fostering teamwork and a sense of responsibility. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or have never planted a seed, there's a place for you in this Camp. Campers are encouraged to take both offered weeks: Dig It - Planting Time and Dig It - Harvest Time! Week 2: June 23-June 27 Animate it! Design it! Make it! We will combine technology with hands-on making. Design and print stickers, Create animation devices, introduction to laser cutting and more. Campers will love creating lunch box animations, flip-book machines, digital rotoscopes, zoo tropes, and more! A special screening of camp projects will close the week. Students will leave Camp with the skills and knowledge to continue creating, communicating, and storytelling through animation. Game Design Ever wanted to know how games work? We’ll explore the history and design of board games, outdoor games, video games, and games of chance! Campers will create a life-sized board game, study the math in poker, and work on collaborative projects in Minecraft. These games encourage teamwork, creative collaboration, and build confidence and strategy skills. Sports Camp: Backyard Games Each week, the sports will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. Campers will be able to play classic "backyard" games in backyard sports or go kayaking and fishing in water sports! Week 3: June 30 - July 3 (No Camp July 4) Sports Camp: Court Sports Campers will learn new court sports daily, including volleyball, badminton, basketball, handball, and floor hockey. Each week, the sports will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. Campers will be able to play classic "backyard" games in backyard sports or go kayaking and fishing in water sports! Textile Art Camp (Ages 8-14)(Waitlist Only) Sew it, Weave it, Dye it! Make plush creatures, custom jump ropes, bandanas, camp flags, and more. Explore techniques, including shibori, tie dying, block printing, fabric marbling, weaving, and sewing. Master Chef: Farm to Table (Ages 8-14) Campers will learn the ins and outs of the kitchen. This week will be about visiting local farms and gardens to create new and exciting entrees! Each week, the meals prepared and field trips will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. Life-size Design & Build (Ages 8-14) Campers will learn how plan something on paper that will be much bigger in real life. Drafting, use of scale, tools and tool safety will all be part of the work to make pieces of scenery, model houses, and large paintings. Week 4: July 7- July 11 Water Sports (Waitlist Only) Each week, the sports will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. Campers will get the opportunity to play classic "water" games in water sports or go kayaking and fishing in water sports! Master Chef: From Scratch (Ages 8-14) Campers will learn the ins and outs of the kitchen. Each week, the meals prepared and field trips will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. This week, they will be making creations without using box recipes! Campers will have the opportunity to use produce grown in our own EFS garden, as well as create every piece of a recipe from scratch! Giant Puppet Stampede (Ages 8-14) Go big with giant puppets! Teams of campers will build and learn to operate giant puppets – some as high as seven feet! Tools and techniques will include working with wood, power tools, paper mâché, fabric, and paint. Campers will perform a giant puppet outdoor comedy for an audience in the grass. Week 5: July 14-July 18 Fitbit Frenzy Campers will each receive a new Fitness Tracker for this Camp (included in price)! Campers will take to the challenges monitored by their trackers, all while forming teams to work their way up the leaderboards! Each day in Camp will introduce a new challenge, and it's up to the campers to work together to figure out how to win! (This Camp is $550.00 - Early Bird discount does not apply) Pixel Perfect (Ages 8-14) Are you a budding photographer? In this session, campers will learn the ins and outs of photography. Campers will have a new photography challenge each day. They will then edit, critique, and showcase their newfound photography skills with each other. Introduction to Cartooning (Ages 8-14)(Waitlist Only) Drawing fun, goofy, even scary creations using pencil, pen-and-ink, and computer tools, campers will explore character design, facial expressions, and bodies. We will help kids hone their drawings toward a style and assemble a serial cartoon! Not only will your camper learn to draw many popular cartoons, but they will also create their own characters and learn more about storytelling with art! Week 6: July 21- July 25 Sports Camp: Olympic Challenge(Waitlist Only) Campers will learn new Olympic sports each day, including volleyball, badminton, basketball, handball, and floor hockey. Each week, the sports will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. Campers will get the opportunity to play popular sports that are being featured in the summer Olympics! Cooking Time Machine This Camp takes you through time on a journey of evolving flavors and recipes by exploring different food histories! Each day will be a cooking investigation into each food item used and how they come together to create multiple recipes! Hand Puppet Stampede (Ages 8-14) There are so many kinds of puppet to cover this week camp puppeteers will need to use both hands! Campers will build a shadow puppet performance – both the theater and the puppets themselves – of an African fable. There will also be a live musical alien pirate adventure with soft puppets the campers will help write! Week 7: July 28 - August 1 Sports Camp: Obscure Sports(Waitlist Only) Each week, the sports will change to reflect the theme of the Camp. Campers will be able to play classic "backyard" games in backyard sports or go kayaking and fishing in water sports! Introduction to Drawing (Waitlist Only) Exploring pencil, charcoal, and other drawing media in teaching campers to draw with their eyes as well as their hands. This camp allows your camper to explore their creative side and explore new drawing techniques. This is based on the traditional intro-level drawing courses.
